Very inspiring in being able to chat yesterday with Nivory Gordon III, M.Sc., a brilliant University of Mississippi School of Law 2L with a MechE Bachelor's and Master's in and who also externed for Judge Amos Mazzant of EDTX (Sherman) this past summer, and advise him on a very ambitious note he is writing for the Mississippi Law Journal that covers many compelling contemporary patent law issues (including several overlapping research topics I am currently writing/working on)! Thanks to Professor Yvette Butler for the introduction as well! Owner read and agreed instantly and verified it from his lawyer too. I amended the language of the clause and removed the repetitive usage of “come to an end”, “termination” and made the termination clause that was a little more sympathetic. I heard the concerns of the owners and offered to amend the termination clause which would accommodate his issues and yet safeguard the interests of the company, the owner agreed. Having an in-house legal team and yet letting the company create such ambiguity in the contract was non-tolerable for me. When directors asked me to remove the termination clause, I protested. The owner has been trying to develop his plot of land in Mumbai for the last 30 years and entered into multiple agreements therefore the sight of terminating yet another agreement seemed scary to him.ĭirectors sided with the owner in order to be in good books and also forecasted that the gray area caused by the lack of termination clause would favour the business. I was startled, me and my legal associate looked at each other with astonishment. On September 7, it traded at about 6c.Recently during a contract negotiation, the land owner asked to remove the termination clause from the MOU we were entering into. In May 2021, Dogecoin traded at around 74c. The US$258bn damage estimate is three times Dogecoin's market value decline since May 2021. While it has resulted in the defendants reportedly making profits "tens of billions of dollars" at the expense of other dogecoin investors, the currency's value "depended solely on marketing," according to the complaint.Īccording to the amended complaint, Musk, the world's richest person, tweeted shortly thereafter that he would continue to support Dogecoin, and said in an interview that "people that work around the factory at SpaceX or Tesla" had inquired about his support.ĭogecoin Foundation, a nonprofit providing governance and support for Dogecoin, is a new defendant. Several companies, including Musk's electric car company Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA), his space tourism company SpaceX, his tunnel construction business The Boring Company and Musk himself have been accused of intentionally driving up the price of dogecoin by over 36,000% for more than two years, according to an amended complaint filed in a Manhattan federal court.įollowing a stellar performance, Musk and his companies allegedly allowed dogecoin to crash, according to the amended complaint. Seven new plaintiffs and six new defendants have recently been added to the US$258bn dogecoin lawsuit. Elon Musk, who has repeatedly expressed his admiration for meme cryptocurrency dogecoin, is now facing a US$258bn racketeering lawsuit due to his involvement with the cryptocurrency.
